Finally Got My eBay Plugin Working

I’ve been putting off work on integrating the McJiffy Easy eBay script into a WordPress plugin, but I finally did it today. Just got the initial items working now; you can see the result at Cheap Hand Bags and Accessories.

The theme is called Crafty Cart, I think it’s pretty easy-on-the-eyes :) It’s geared toward the eCommerce WordPress Plugin, but will work without it. I need to experiment with the eBay listings and see what looks best and get the Search, Related Items and the eBay Guide Book funcationality working in the theme before going live — oops, Already am!

I was getting GREAT traction with Google with the box template from McJiffy for ALL KINDS of hand bag related brands and topics…$$$ We’ll see how the new template fares.

Took the East AND the West Today

I haven’t reg’d a name in about a week, but today I took TWO names down: one from The Drop, the other from a Taster’s Drop.

07075.com, Wood Ridge, NJ. : Estimated median house/condo value in 2007: $431,283; Population: 7505 (People)

CowTowns.com : Widely distributed throughout the West and Mid-West; Population: 100,000,000 (Cattle)

I LOVE CowTowns.com! Here’s what Google says:

cow town : 6,600
cowtown : 49,500
cow towns : 590
cowtowns : 320

It’s a common folk phrase, so you’d expect a wide range of Google hits: Rodeos, Museums, Skateboards(!?), Boot Manufacturer, a Speedway(!?), Marathons, Music, Western Wear and even Rubber Stamps!

Looks like there’s even a Cow Town Rodeo that comes to New Jersey! I wonder if it’s in the 07075 zipcode? :)

CowboyHat.com just sold for north of $16K and I don’t even have to mention (b/c I want to finish this post) the backstory of Cowboys.com. I’ve got WesternBoutique.com waiting in the development wings… yeee haaaw!

The Most Dangerous Thread

Over at Namepros there are numerous threads where people can post their names and ask for opinions and appraisals. Here are a few and what I think of them:

  • LLLL.com; not scary at all, very solid reseller-market, although low and taking a beating
  • LL-L.com and L-LL.com; not too scary, short-names will always be popular
  • LLLL.net; mildly scary, with a countdown thread AND an active sales-report thread, little early to the punch here IMO
  • L-L-L.com; not scary at all, they little guys are HOT! Get them if you can!
  • L-L-L.net; mildly scary, I’m only getting 3-letter words or very strong acronyms. I just took L-E-D.net a little while ago.
  • N-N-N.com; not scary, but not HOT either. I own a few… Perception is (with all numerics) the lack of end-users
  • Numeric Names; not scary if 4 digits or less, 5 or more? Run for the Hills!
  • LLLL.org; scary, way to early on these for random letters

And the Most Dangerous Thread Is!

  • LLLLL.com; Why are people reg’ing these names?! Absolutely frightening. Either I’m totally missing the boat and just don’t get it, or these guys really need to visit GoDrops.com for some great two word dot COMs.! :)

Another New WordPress Version, Another Day

WordPress comes out with new version ALL the time it seems. I’ve just downloaded 2.6.3 and have been installing it on a few of my sites and checking others to see if they’re still working. My theme on DungeonGames.com wasn’t working, so I’m just in the process of bringing that back to life on 2.6.3 starting from scratch…

I don’t have any content yet, but I’ve gotten some VERY good ideas form Google Alerts. A good idea — often repeated — and I’ll say it again: it’s a great idea to find out what’s going on in your niche. Go create a alert on your domain keywords and get notification once-a-day — a great way to keep up-to-date.
